ISA PFC Free Waterproof Leathers Since 2014

Per- and Poly-fluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are famous for their function of water and dirt repellency and have been widely used for outdoor products. However, PFCs are known to be toxic, bioaccumulative and persistent in the environment. They are not easily broken down and will disperse over the globe gradually.

Since PFCs are hazardous to human health and the environment, Greenpeace has carried out product testing investigation and the results revealed that Ionic and Volatile PFCs were widely present in many outdoor products.

While ISA strives to produce premium performance leather, the company stresses on environmental sustainability and ensures all products are free from PFCs (PFC-Free). This includes all Ionic and Volatile per/poly fluorinated compounds.

ISA LITE® Concept defines a high standard of environmental responsibility in the manufacturing process. Every ISA product has passed strict testing requirements and are all in accordance with the latest regulations and laws globally. Thus, among the 32 kinds of PFCs targeted by Greenpeace, none would be detected in our products.

ISA TanTec was founded in 1995 and currently has 4-ultra modern tanneries located in the USA, Vietnam, China and Italy. In 2016, Navis Capital Partners co-invested with ISA as a strategic partner to support the further growth ambitions of ISA TanTec.
